nate,
The buck that dropped that antler is a short timer. It appears the pedicel did not seperate cleanly and the antler took part of the buck's skull. This sometimes allows/promotes infection at the pedicel which will likely penetrate the bone. If that happens he will not live much longer.

Have seen a few deer(same buck) drop them off like that every year.Quite a few moose also do that as well.

I was pointing that out to a friend, I knew it was pretty deep, hopefully he recovers from it and hopefully we find his match, I don't really hunt there but it'll be nice to see him next year, his H -1 was a solid 5 4/8s.

I’m curious how one scores a shed like that? Are you adding like the width measurement as if one drew a line from base to tip then measure to inside? I rarely find a shed let alone anything worth scoring so this peaked my interest! Happy trapping! ScottW

That pic makes the rack look much smaller than it is then. I didn't think it was anywhere close either.

It would be nice to see a better pic of the antler then to appreciate the size.

I understand stand you, but these other are pathetic.
1. Is the mass measurement.18
H 1- 5- 5/8
2- 5- 3/8
3- 4-6/8
4- 2-7/8 is actually 17 5/8
2. Main beam is. 23 3/8
3. Is tine length.
G 1 is 4 7/8
2 is 7 6/8
3 is 8 7/8 total is 21 4/8
Let me know if you have any other questions.
On a shed you have four mass measurements, the length of the main beam and the length of the tines. There is no width measurement.

Where is your forth circumstance?
I can easily discredit your generous 22 inches I've got 100 bucks if you're willing to bet? Or 500.00

I’d still like to see another pic of the shed to understand the true size of it.

No more pics required. A man is only as good as his word. Any of you naysayers even know Nate?
Y'all need to set some traps, or argue politics until you get throwd out, and leave ole Nate alone.
Maybe start an argument with your wife, if you have one, so that you will surely be told that you are wrong straight away. smile
