In my little woodlot I have Red, Fox, Grey and Flying Squirrels.
Mostly Greys.

I counted 23 at one time on a walk to get the mail.
Lots of the little buggers.

My neighbor had a vendetta on the squirrels, seems he treated his deck with oil to preserve it.
Ever since then he had squirrels gnawing on it.
Turns out the oil had nut oils in it.

They claim fox squirrels are in Maine as well, but I have never seen one or heard of anyone in Maine seeing one.

Don’t forget about the Aberts and Kaiabab squirrels. Both of them are tufted ear squirrels, and the Kaiababs get really big. Think young of the year Swift fox size.

find several fields of corn with old combines harvesting and you will find some good fox squirrel colonies in the winter

and the fly tiers really love the hair from Alberts and Kaiaba's and black grey squirrel hair for the duff tie
