With the number of bunny snugglers XC skiers, snowshoers invading the area and believing the wild areas are for their use only and trapping being evil and inhumane, even if just using cage traps, accompanied with physical limitation decided that only going to do nuisance trapping on private property where if traps messed with client can KMA and take care of their own problem

Sorry you're having issues, people suck. You should start lobbying to make restrictions on hiking or kayaking or mountain biking. Lobby to make pot illegal again, half your state would flock back to California. All just wishful thinking for you, I'm sorry you gotta deal with that

You could also move to a better, more remote area as well.

I feel your pain Jingles. I’m over run with anti trappers in my neck of the woods. Bruce T has the right idea.

I trap 100% public land and have had very few issues with the public. Of course I'm in Oregon where mostly nice, loving people reside.

My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

Can't get much more remote than where I am now population of the town is 380, unfortunately the libtards on Vinke's side of the state came here bought property built 1 mil $ second homes bring their friends to recreate here and think because they have money the woods are theirs

I agree why would you want to trap where there are a bunch of people.

I feel your pain .....we have vast amounts of public land on the east side of the cascades , unfortunately all these libtard transplants from California, Portland , Seattle think it's all there for them to discover.....making it worse is the winter range closure program brought to us by more libtards residing in our fish and game dept . This severely restricts the dispersal of a multitude of user groups ......tree huggers, dog walkers , bird watchers , bird hunters , mountain bikers , snow shoers , cross country skiers , granola crunchers , hikers , photographers, ranchers , off roaders, motorcyclist , target shooters , wood cutters , fruit cakes , squatters , environmental nazis , anti trappers , butterfly lovers , blm swat enforcement , forest disservice.......bla bla bla ....and many more

All this BS and all condensed to main arteries ( roads ) ....no dispersal of user groups translates to nothing but problems .....especially for a trapper.

The winter range closure " to protect wildlife " is a friggin joke ......no predator control .....free lunch

Odfw needs to get a clue ......complete failure ..... 40 yr decline in mule deer population......hello its not working mad

But that's a whole nother topic mad

I suspect the thicker WET forest on the west side of the cascades helps The Vink and Peeler with concealing sets and trapping activities.....I don't know for sure though

The Vink for chief moderator....night shift ...11pm- 5am best coast time zone.....Free Marty

Well Jingles, I certainly don't live in your State but this is 2025, you can run but you can’t hide regardless of where you live & trap! If you can’t adapt to the circumstances then you do need to pack it up! Heck, There are properties that I trapped a mere 10 years ago that are now established subdivisions which means there were people out and about those properties while I was trapping coyotes but I’ve never had a problem because I knew I needed to adapt to the circumstances presented to me to be able to still catch coyote!!

We don’t have public land to trap, not that I’d trap it if we had it. Unless Southern fur takes a mighty upswing I’ll stick to private land where is something gets destroyed the landowners pay for it.

That must really limit your trapping areas.

Heck nah, I have to turn places down because I’ve only got so much time in the day. Now when I retire I could probably stay busy all year long trapping if I wanted.
