Hated mine. I finally drug it to the curb last year. Those "infrared" grates/heat plenums were the devil. What a nightmare to clean, then they rusted out.. I only kept it for the sideburner for the last year. Then it got all buggered up. Tore it all apart and cleaned it, replaced the regulator, tried different tanks, all to no avail.

Had good luck with Char Broils up till then.

In 2004, Lowes was selling CharBroil grills with a lifetime warranty. I jumped on one. Replaced the innards about twice with free parts. I expected the casters to fail first but they were OK 10 years later when I gave the grill a toss off our third-floor deck.

They don't offer a lifetime warranty anymore.

I have yet to own a gas grill with a good side burner capable of deep frying anything.

I gave mine up several years ago. I cook over charcoal or real fire now, won't ever go back. I do have a propane flat top griddle though, but I like real fire the best.

I am going to go get my last gas grill out of the dump pit and make it into a wood fired pizza grill. It will sit on a fire ring I made and have the bottom open to catch heat from burning wood below it. It will just be the cast case with the grate. That is as close as I will get to using a propane grill again. I would have it home now, but the snow is to deep to chance driving the PU out there.

Is there a link between cooking over open flame propane and natural gas and spikes in cancer? I've always wondered about that because your food is surely absorbing some unburnt gas and carcinogens.

But that has not stopped me from using a gas grill and gas cook stove. I have a Weber spirit and really like it. Going on 8 years and no problems yet. I also cook on a charcoal Weber, only way to cook chicken wings, and have a traeger pellet grill for ribs. Also have a Blackstone. Use all of them.

Wood is also a hydrocarbon fuel, as is coal. Not aware of a link to cancer but your assumption is interesting.

If I am going to cook with gas I use the kitchen stove. Nothing beats a nice beef steak cooked on a grill over the coals of a wood fueled fire. Trap stakes work too. Just lay several across on rocks.
