Older thread but what are #2 jumps good for and what are they worth?Rats are their best use. They could be used on drowners for coons and mink as well. Good used ones at $5 ea are a fair deal for both buyer and seller.

I have some #4's I still put out. They are not my favorite trap to use as they are a bear to set when your hands are tired and you are standing in knee deep water. They are good for crossovers between small ponds when you don't know if its going to be a nutria, beaver, otter, coon, or...They hold. I perfer the old Victor oval shaped #3's, but when you run out of traps to set a #4 jump will do in a pinch. Same Here! I have a bunch of B/L #4's that it takes 2 men and a boy to set!
Every kid needs a Dog and a Curmudgeon.

Beware! Jill Pudlewski, Ron Oates and Keven Begesse are liars and thiefs!

ADC,
I was going to suggest the same set but I didn't have a great picture or drawing like yours. If my ankle heals up enough to catch the last couple weeks of muskrat and beaver season I'll put out a bunch of those. I don't have many 1 1/2s or 2s but gobs of 1s. I'll add an 8ounce decoy weight to insure immediate drowning.

I still like jump traps. Maybe it's nostalgia, maybe it's because they are light to carry. Or maybe it's because they are still effective traps. Probably a blend of all three reasons.

Trail cameras and fresh snow have broke a lot of trapper’s hearts.

Good luck. I find if you attach the trap low on the pole they go down and wrap around it pretty quick but the added weight wouldn't hurt anything.

Gonna make some beaver sets tomorrow with #14's under the ice, I'll try to remember to take pictures (I'm bad at that) I ended up going with snare poles instead of #14's today, I'm planning on setting a few more ponds at the same place, so I'm gonna get some jumps in there
