He found a way to make a great income and become popular and famous in some circles. Is he a true believer radical or just taking advantage of an opportunity. some of both?

Democrat leadership is beholden to the fringes of their party, wether that be trans people, BLM and DEI supporters ,or anti-gunners. Gun control is quickly going to become a losing issue for Democrats. Gun ownership among Democrats has jumped just in the last few years, from around 20% of Democrats owning a gun to around 30%. (About 50% of republicans own guns).

Regular people who vote Democrat (not the leadership of the party) are quickly realizing the disconnect between saying "politician/group X wants to take our rights away and poses an existential threat to us" (even if that's not true, they still think it), and saying "only the government should have guns, we shouldn't have the tools to protect ourselves from politician/group X".

Some of the hared core dems are waking up.

My cousins x wife hard core dem Told my cousin before the election she was having conflicting feelings. Having a Democrat her entire life But doesn't like what's going on and didn't honestly know who she would vote for. Knowing how her strong left leaning brain works he only responded well your pretty smart you will know what to do.

"Pigs get fat. Hogs get slaughtered." is an idiom I hope applies in this case.

Doesn't seem like the dems are fast learners.

3 hunters went to Alaska bear hunting. A pilot flew them to a far out camp and told the hunters he would pick them up in 5 days. Well the hunters did well and all killed their bears in first couple of days hunting. The 3rd day a weather report said bad storms were approaching. The pilot reasoned he needed to go pick the hunters up. When he got to camp and started loading the stuff up the hunters wanted to load the bears. The pilot said he couldn't take on that much weight and that he could only take one and they would have to leave the other two. They resisted and said that the pilot last year let them load all their bears. Reluctantly the pilot said to load them quickly that they needed to get ahead of the storm.
On the take off the pilot couldn't get it up enough to get over the trees on the horizon and crashed. The pilot was knocked out and after he regained consciousness he said, "where are we"? One of the hunters said "I know where we are", this is where we crashed last year.
