I know this part of your statement is completely off base. I've spoken with the owners and managers of three of the four building supply yards about the upcoming tariffs. These guys supply eastern PA and northern Jersey with lumber and other building materials. They tell me that the majority of their construction grade lumber never came from Canada, 60-70% is sourced from American suppliers. They will not be purchasing any high-dollar (due to tariffs) Canadian softwoods but will begin to source more from American suppliers. They did say that there may be short-term supply shortages and the resulting price increases while American suppliers ramp up production but that will only be temporary. That is pretty much one of the desired effect of the tariffs isn't it? To have American companies ramp up production? I don't know where the big box stores get there lumber from because I don't buy from them, so your mileage may differ. Spock out. so your saying it will do exactly the same thing his tarrifs on steel did the first go around. Who would have thought?? Temp price increas and then price drops to lowered level than before. And more Americans to work and larger gdp. It's easy to look into yet so many just jump on the hysteria of the media. Weather event, supply chain, influenza my hyner. Too many involved that don't do a dam thing. Crankcase out lol.

In the grand scheme of things the USA economy will be just fine with these tariffs. Using 2023 data, Texas has the worlds 8th largest GDP whereas Canada is 12th, Russia is 13th and Mexico is after that. Last time I checked Texas was not even a country! The USA GDP is close to 28 trillion dollars while Canada sits close to 3 trillion dollars. Chris >>In God we trust<<

You must not be much of an investor if short term market fluctuations effect your mind set. I absolutely love when the markets have corrections. That's when I buy more at the discount prices.
