I wouldn't worry to much about it. The same people who claimed 46 was of sound mind are the same people who claim catastrophic economic results will occur with 47's tariffs. X2

You are making assumptions without any facts. US border patrol has the ability to check anyone and everyone crossing into the United States. The fact is that compared to what they are seizing at the southern border what finds its way across from Canada is minuscule. Not absent but minuscule. It all needs to stop coming across the border.

It appears Mexico is starting to cave. Mexico said they are going to send 10,000 troops to the border and Trump agreed to a one month reprieve for them on the Tariffs. Canada is now saying they want talks.

The fact is that compared to what they are seizing at the southern border what finds its way across from Canada is minuscule. Not absent but minuscule. It all needs to stop coming across the border. It won’t ever stop entirely due to the massive demand by Americans for these drugs.

No, I’m repeating what I’m being told from CBSA employees Let’s assume for a second that what you are saying is true and the 19kg are a fraction of what’s crossing. That would also mean that the 9600kg from Mexico is also a fraction of what’s coming in. So again. The big problem is still to the south and I’ll take published stats over second or third hand opinions from someone who may or may not work for CBSA

The drugs coming across the border won't stop completely. However, if it's cut in one-half it will be a win.

If memory serves, drug problem from Canada is in form of coke and heroin, which is smuggled into Canada in shipping containers, almost none of which are inspected. Once in, getting that over the border is not a huge problem.
If all that is true, then easy fix might be to crack open more containers with a drug sniffing dog on hand. That would be cheaper than paying a big tariff.

The last time I checked it’s the job of US border patrol to inspect things entering the US. Maybe the federal government needs to increase staffing levels on the northern border. Might be a hard sell considering less than 1% of the fentanyl coming into the US comes through Canada

If the coke/heroin story is true, the choke point in Canada is when they crack open the cans. Failure to do that, and it gets dispersed like smoke from a forest fire. US can't stop it then.
