Day 2 on the trap line was fantastic! 1 coyote, 2 big buck mink, a pile of coons and a BOBCAT!!! The vets where really excited to catch that bobcat. We pulled traps and had a skinning party. These guys are really good at skinning, like I would put them up against a lot of experienced guys. They handled themselves in the field like trappers and they made professional looking sets and the proof is in the fur! TD and myself hated to see them leave as they where not only really solid dudes but hard workers.

The veterans wanted me again to express that they are humbled that people they don’t t even know from all over the country chipped in to make this a experience to remember. The food and drink was great, the host treated them like family and now they have the equipment and knowledge to go forward, spending time in the outdoors, hopefully replacing the memories of the horrors of combat with new adventures of trapping. As a decorated multi-war veteran I could see the changes and it made me very happy to see them acting like kids at Christmas checking traps. This old war horse Gunny wants to thank each and everyone of you for making this happen.

Yes sir they guy's went with a load of trapping equipment. Thanks to all you fellow trappers that donated to our event this year. The T shirts and caps will be mailed out in the next couple days. If for any reason you don't receive them please contact me as we do not want to miss anyone. Once again Thank all of you. My wife Kim and I look forward to putting on this event again next year God willing. Thanks to all of you veterans on this site and all over the USA for what you did for our country.

Good on you for doing this! One of this year's crew signed up for Trapperman yesterday.

As an attendee, I would like to personally thank Mr Terry Dowden and his wife and Gunny for all that has been done to make this event a succes. Additionally to each of the sponsors that helped make it possible for Mr. Terry and Gunny to pass on their knowledge of a time honored tradition. This event was exceptional and far beyond expectations.

There are multiple pictures that can only show a moment of time of the excitement and joy from each of us. I could make everyone laugh and probably bore you with the time shared during this event. There were those moments that you would say "you had to be there to belive it". As well the campfire comradery and conversations.

For those that attended, it was hands on deck when the work was needed. I am thankful for a group of dedicated and motivated personnel. It was a group effort to help each other and no one shyed away. There is much more than I thought was possible to get from this event.

So glad this event was again so successful. I could think of no greater cause to donate to. So much thanks to Tdtrapper, his wife and Gunny for hosting and putting this event together.

This group was serious about trapping, but we had a blast. Some of the adventures we had was the funniest antics I have had in a long time, what happens on the long line, stays on the long line....

One thing that was great was the work ethic of this group. After the first run they got introduced to skinning for the fur maket. It reminded me of the old days at the fur buyers with everyone just skinning and skinning...We had work stations set up which proved helpful as on day two they just started working. One would prep the animal, one skinning, another washing and packing the meat, another was cleaning gear...

I know you get tired of hearing TD and I thanking everyone, but again, we can't thank you enough for making this event possible.
