Bunch of rich landowners who pay to have critters removed. We’ve also got a bunch of cheap ones that want critters and hogs removed that think I’d do it for free. One told me I can keep the hogs for meat and sell the fur of the critters, lol.

That must really limit your trapping areas.

No not really, you just have more property owners to get permission on 40-200 acre properties. Since there are always property owners who won’t allow trapping, you won’t ever know if the coyote stall-out is on their property because it isn’t on the one you do have permission on. Or maybe there is a particular feature you’d want to set but don’t know because you can't get there from here!

I just had someone ask me to bid a beaver contract, told them there's no way I'm turning my hobby into a real job. We're pretty blessed still in MN, I don't know how long that'll last but I certainly appreciate what we have.

Wise move right there! It might be just fine for some folks but I learned my lesson after 3 years of trapping as a job and would never do it again.

Something about snow out here. Hardly a person in the woods and then we got the first good snow of the year, there's one car after another in the woods and they all have dogs. I'm not losing any traps though. I guess everybody has to test their 4x4s and let their dog run a bit.

Go deep. Sure, it’s hard work but you’ll be alone and nobody will ever steal your stuff, just the bears will.

No kidding! Like they’re doing me a favor…some of the properties are a 1.5 hour drive away!!!……lol.
They stop when I say it’d be cheaper for them to just buy some 330s and do it themselves.

I hear that Shakeyjake, as soon as they hear they have to be invested by either $$, or have to lift a finger on their own toward the problem on "their" land, it's amazing how fast they back off, Lol.

I started trapping because I was sorta told to. I get a lot of “benefits” on that particular property so I thought I was doing it for free. First paycheck was really a surprise. Then other folks started ringing the line and it just sorta happened. Got a great group of landowners that basically give me free rein of their properties and even offer deer and an occasional turkey along with the money.
