Can anything be added to a too skunky of bait to tame the skunk down? It's really loud and I prefer a tad of skunk for this area. Thanks.

My first thought is add 2 or 3 times the existing volume of some kind of ground meat such as horse, deer or beaver...??? That should dilute the the skunk by 2 or 3 times. Maybe mix it with a non skunky bait.

I have done that very thing to tame a bait down that I gave too heavy of a skunk smell. Kind of hard to get a feel for it from reading about it I think though, and messing some up is good experience.

If you can, make a new batch and let this one age for a year or so. It should mellow out.

Its near impossible to take away skunk. Time and bleed evaporation is your best bet. I agree with Paul. You could cut the batches with other like materials or add some of the skunky batch to another neutral batch until it suits your taste.

To my nose, most skunk stuff seriously dissipates in just six months.

It’s so hard to lock down.
