Had bad back pain since i was in my teens. Went to the gym always and was in good shape-still had bad a$$ pain. In my late 30's finally decided to try one of those back extension machines and it fixed me up in 2 weeks. Muscle training is a miracle, until you get lifting super heavy!

This here smasho. Strengthen your core. As a lineman, my core is unbelievably sturdy……. crazy
Try planking, looks super easy but just hold it for 30 seconds…..lol.

Two and two then stretch in my case.

Two Aleve pills, and two stiff CC’s and water. Wait 45min then lay down and stretch, turn, until you feel a small pop. That relieves the pressure on nerve for me when I do it at first sign of back trouble. Longer I wait the harder it is to pop but it’s instant relief.

Find something high enough that you can grab ahold of and have your arms and legs straight out with out touching the ground. Relax as much as you possibly can take a deep breath in and slowly let it out this will decompress your joints from your wrist to your feet sometimes putting a couple pounds on your feet will help stretch you out a little more.

Could be a herniated disk, I've dealt with one for 21 years now.
Strengthen your core as stated but stay away from a chiropractor if it's a disk. Lower back exercises will help as well but do them carefully.
Stretch after you work out.

I agree, carpal tunnel. I wear a wrist brace for that reason. Also, this over the counter lidocaine roll on you get at any drug store helps with the wrist pain.

My doctor suggested I start doing squats, so I moved all the beer to the bottom shelf of my fridge.

I have a chiropractor friend not far from you outside of Brownsville off Rt 40, maybe he can help, $20.00, walk ins only, and out the door fast, no waiting and making appointments etc. If you are interested let me know and I will fix you up.

Isn't aging grand?!
Wait till your golden years and find out they're actually rust!

In all seriousness I hope you find relief. I've had 3 back surgeries. Daily stretching is what I think is most important.
Of course you can't start a regimen like that until you find out what wrong and heal from this encounter.
I wish you the best

The problem with your back, is your front. Get to where you do 25 situps a day with your knees bent and your toes under the couch or the bed.

For quick short term remedy: get into the position above and with your fingers behind your head and your elbows, touching your knees or close, relax and fall back until just before your shoulders and head hit the floor then stop abruptly. This will pull everything back into line. You will hear several small pops when you jerk to a stop and that is your spine realigning itself.

I got mashed pretty bad by stock in a sale barn when I was a teenager couldn’t walk for days. Had a bad back ever since then when I was about 30 I was doing some work for a neurosurgeon and he said you got a bad back don’t you?

He told me about what he had learned from a pilot when he was in the Air Force it was his responsibility to certify or ground pilots and a pilot that was pretty crippled up came in for certification. The doctor told him I can’t certify you with your lower back like that. The pilot said yeah I know give three days and I’ll straighten it upandThe doctor told him I’ll give you three weeks. You got a herniated disc, but you ain’t gonna be there. The pilot came back in three days and with his knees straight, he bent at the waist and touched his palms on the floor. That’s when he told the doctor about the exercise regimen that he did which included 50 to 75 set ups every day

Could be spinal stenosis. I had that and surgery on lower back cured it. Get a good back doctor. Stay away from those cortisone shots. They will not cure the problem. But I had to try the shots to satisfy my insurance before they would ok surgery. Only had one shot and insurance approved surgery.

Get it checked

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

it has a lot to do with core strenght

I have 4 full ruptures , they always happend in late Febuary or early March

sittig at me desk working all seasons were over for me at the time so I cleared snow , drove to work in a freezing truck bouncing down frost heaved roads and then sat at my desk all day

been standing about 17 years now it keeps the core better than sitting

when the muscles get weak , the bones sit on the disks , when the disks compress it pinches nerves , that makes the muscles tighten and radiate pain.

good posture , good strength , helps a lot

the trick is rest just long enough to get active and keep active and standing more and more
then never let it get weak again and keep your posture good.

Go see a chiropractor they have straightened me out many times over the years most things heal themselves overtime the chiropractor just speeds it up. Put my back out moving wood last month lower back pain right leg numbness to the touch it started with a cramp like spasm.

Chiropractor made it better but I moved a large round that realigned me better once the spine moved on its own it’s better now. I never felt worse leaving a chiropractors office.

This right here, two trips to the chiropractor with a herniated disc ended me up in emergent surgery at 23 years old to decompress my spine. While expensive I do recommend an MRI to rule out anything that a trip to the chiropractor could worsen

I had a back injury in my late 20’s that included some sciatica nerve damage in my left leg. Thought I was going to have to live with it for the rest of my life. I started working on strengthening my core about 4 years ago. Best thing I ever did. No more back pain.

Here's what I do for chronic lower back pain. When it flares up to where I can't sleep, I jump in the shower and turn the heat up as high as I can stand it. My shower head sends out a needle-like array which is important for this to work.
The hot water needles striking your skin in the affected areas confuses the nerves which are causing muscle contractions which are pinching bigger nerves. Once the barrage of hot needles overloads the nerves which are causing the muscle tightness, they stop contracting and the pain is greatly reduced if not gone and I sleep like a log. Applying heat to muscles is generally not a good idea for back pain, especially a heating pad, but a brief shower of hot needles in not heating the muscles. It is just causing them to shut up and let me relax.
I had sciatica in my left thigh for several months. I decided to buy a pair of high end, more supportive work boots. I bought some Danner high top lace up boots and tightened them up tight. Sciatica went away within a week!
