I just picked up a few white powder coated ones from dambeaver before any tariffs kick in….lol. $185CAD
Here’s Bernie’s setters. Are these adjustable to fit everything? Hard to tell in the pic.

How’s the “creep” on these things? Do you do any filing to the pan trigger area or is it “click” and any more movement it fires?

They are ready to go out of the box. At least all of mine have been.

I've had the same experience

On my powder coated white ones, I had to clean the contact area between the pan and the jaws. The powder coating was kind of pooled in there and they didn’t have the crisp click into place that the non powder coated ones have.

I bought the one handed setters and theyre great but i still set the ko extreme by hand. I like the one handed setters though because they kind of lock together unlike the setters i had for mb750s that didnt lock into place and nearly broke my thumb one year when i slipped.

You mean by foot? If you can set those with your hands…..holy smokes! All my brands I can set by foot, but when taking them off a critter a pair of setters is nice. I should get them tomorrow. Cut some chain tonight, get the welder & swivels ready and probably get them in the snow on Saturday.

They will fit most coilsprings, the ad says "from MB 550 to Alaska 9". I know they will fit MB 750, Duke 850, Bridger 5, TS85, NOBS wolf extreme, Alaska 9, and I'm pretty sure the Bridger 9 and Koro. Bernie told me the only wolf traps he had tried them on that they didn't fit were the TS85s that Dan Helterline modified and used to sell. Due to the way he laminated them. I'm cheap and haven't bought a pair, so I'm packing two or three different coilspring setters around to fit my different traps, and if I'm using any Sleepy Creek 4 1/2s I've got setters for them also. Keep saying I'm going to build a set like Bernie's, but I haven't ever gotten around to it.

I’ve also got 3 different kinds in the bag. Would be nice to eventually have all the same gear, but the 750s certainly have a place where the big heavy dudes don’t shine so much. The stuff is so bloody expensive! Just slowly build up the stash I guess. Just bought a barrel of chain so I should be good in that department for a long time…lol

I'm in the same boat, I have a bunch of mis matched stuff. In a perfect world I'd have all #9's, but I'm not made of money, so I have a variety of flavors. I just try to buy a dozen a year, and eventually I might be satisfied with the collection lol

Good luck with that, when I have enough of every flavor of wolf trap to satisfy me I'll need a new shop to store them in. lol

Yeah I've got five different brands of wolf traps, plus one I made myself. I have a few Alaska 9s, they are about the ultimate deep snow trap (although Koros may be as good, I don't have any of them, but I'd like some, lol) but they are dang expensive and they hold onto everything. Not a good trap to set where you have any worries about people or where there is any other game using. There are places where the smaller, more nontarget friendly traps are appropriate, and places where I simply don't want to set one of the more expensive traps. But I'd like to have some more 9s, either Alaskans or Koros.

SJ, you'd be surprised how fast you go through chain when you start making drags, and have a few chunks for when you want to reach a tree to chain off to. I've thought I had enough to last me a long time and I've ordered another 100 feet a few times after that, and I think I'm currently out.

Haha! I just bought a pail of chain…150’ for $250CAD. Got my package and welded up the shocks & swivels, scraped off the dog and they’re almost ready for snow. Drags! I’m all out, mine are all out on the line! I’ll have to find a big log or might be a big enough tree for an anchor where I want to set.
