Who has one? Brand? Pros and cons?
I'd like one for quietness alone but wondering how long a battery lasts.

We have a Stihl. So far I’m pretty happy with the performance vs my expectations when we got it. Battery life has been about 15 mins give or take a couple.

Have a ryobi I bought a couple years ago after an ice storm. Been impressed with it overall. Most the trees I've cut have been Bradford pear so nothing hard but with two batteries unless I'm actually felling one battery will last within 10 minutes of the other one being charged, maybe 45 minutes to an hour. When felling or cutting logs that are say 15" or bigger the run time is similiar to hobbietrapper.

YouTube project farm and look at his most recent video. About as good of information as you'll find on the subject.

I have the milwukee 8" hatchet and the pole saw.....both have been great so far. The hatchet rides with me almost everywhere I go while hunting and makes quick work of downed trees across the trails.

The Mil Hatchet, swapped out the bar with an 8”. Buy the biggest batteries and carry 2. Usually I done need the second unless I’m cutting lots of bigger stuff off the trail. Super handy! They drink a lot of oil.
Cons? It’ll never replace the gas saw, but they certainly have their place.

Have the dewalt 20 V, works great. Run it with the 20V, 6 Amps battery, not sure how long it lasts continuous but great for clearing trail. Also use it for cutting ice around beaver houses, never had an issue with it. Quiet and no issues with trying to get it started laugh

We have a Stihl, used it for the first time yesterday clearing trees, and brush from an old road on a piece of property we just bought. The battery lasted 2 hours of cutting and moving brush/trees so it wasn't running continuously but it held up longer than I would have anticipated. We bought it for my wife because she doesn't like the gas saws and it is easier for her to use, thus far I have been impressed with it. It is nice not having to deal with the noise and it is obviously easier to communicate about what you are getting ready to do when cutting stuff so it is actually safer.

I wouldn't want to try to cut a years worth of firewood with one but for clearing brush and stuff out of the trail or cutting enough firewood for a campfire it is a really handy tool. When I bought this one they had a deal going where if you bought an extra battery, which I would have bought anyway, you got a 3 year extension on the warranty so it now has a 6 year warranty on the saw and batteries.

I have a DeWalt 12" electric. Works great for small jobs around the house. It's really not for big jobs though. I've cut 5-6 inch thick trunks with it no problem.

I bought a stihl hatchet 2 weeks ago for my wife. Haven't used it yet but just a heads up. I got it at Acme tool in Fargo and Acme had a deal that if you bought one you get a free 8ah battery. I don't know if that deal is still going on but it might be worth checking it out.

Have one on the sxs to clear trails and other trapline duties....Wouldn't even consider one to cut hardwood firewood with.

I own a small electric saw I use for small branches. The batteries don't last as long in colder weather. A great saw for warmer months. I still prefer my gas powered Stihls for heavier work.

My doctor suggested I start doing squats, so I moved all the beer to the bottom shelf of my fridge.

I have had a Ryobi chainsaw for many years. It works well for its weight and how it is used. I like mine. Keep extra batteries and keep the chains sharp.

My wife hated the noise and vibration of the gas stihl so I bought her a 20 volt dewalt. It's OK for cutting tree limbs but is more like a tinker toy when it comes to cutting firewood. Later on I had a rebate from a seed company in the for of a gift certificate so i used that and bought the bigger 60 volt dewalt. What a difference! The 60 volt can cut through anything that the stihl gas can. Downfall is batteries are expensive and don't last real long on a xharge but if you have an extra battery and are working in the yard it's not a problem. I would say batteries last about the same as 1/4 to 1/3 of a tank of gas. I don't even use my gas powered one unless we are cutting trees out if the yard. Usually cut 6 to 18" trees into 6 to 8 foot lengths in to woods and bring those home, then process those into firewood at home with the electric.
