Actually take advantage of it this time? We are entering another period of more supply than demand on ammo and reloading components Are not only becoming available again but are also being put on sale. we will have 4 years and baring another big mass shooting should have a good window to stock up at better prices then there had been In years.

So here is a friendly reminder to everyone to start watching for sales additional discounts and free shipping and hazmat offers. often more than one can be combined and at times its better to make more than one order breaking it up to get the best discount. Here is an example.

during the last Trump slump midway was having a sale. They offered larger discount off with increasing amount spent 10 off 100 20$ off 200.. They also had a free shipping offer if you spent over a certain amount.

I ordered 10,000 rounds of ccI .22lr in one day but made 5 Separate orders of 2k each order. That's was the amount to get the highest discount off and free shipping. breaking the order up I received an additional $20 off each order saving me additional 100$. Making the total per round price .04c

I just saw small sales in the Feb Natchez catalog and it got me thinking about how I need to be sure to plan large ammo and component purchases into the budget..

Just a small reminder for everyone to buy it cheap and stack it deep so you don't get caught with your pants down during the next shortage and not only have plenty but extra.

Some may do this but I k ow others won't and those that won't will be crying later and calling those like me a horder. You will know who plans ahead and who didn't.

I can trap and hunt the rest of my life without buying anything gun related. I dont shoot competition and dont shoot for fun a whole lot. When I do I replace what was used. Dont really even need to do that. If the boogy man shows up some night I wont need 1000 rounds. So I likely wont buy gobs unless the price drops significantly. If China lands troops in CA I have enough to take my turn untill Im dead or uncle sugar brings resupply.

The same for me pretty much.
Only thing I might run out of is 20 ga. I shoot sporting clays maybe twice a year, usually with someone who will share my gun with me. So thats 200 rounds max a year.
I have enough to last a couple more years then I'll be out.

I have looked at 20 ga shells at fleet farm and they are about2-3x what I paid for the shells I have.
Makes it hard to buy more at that price.

I'm going to wait till I'm almost out then I'll decide if I want to buy more.

None of my kids have expressed any desire to get any of my guns, I'll ask again at some point. If they don't want anything I'll start selling off my stuff as I don't use but 2 of my guns as is (20ga and .22 rifle).

Not true, I have I don't know how many thousands of rounds of .22., tens of thousands. I know I'll never use them. When I die my wife and or kids will have to deal with them.

If you have more than you'll ever use you have too much. That money that you used to buy all that ammo could of been used for more productive things.

I'm guilty of too much ammo.

Dirty D I have given guns to kids and grandkids last couple years. I made a list who gets whats here when I am dead. I am confident my son will carry out my wishes. My old coyote gun is not going anywhere till I am dead. Same with several others. Have two grandkids that shot their first deer with couple staying till the end. They will get the one they killed their deer with. (two different guns) Last one I gave away was to my oldest daughter. A 243 my grandad bought in the 60's. Had about 50 handloads I gave her with it a pound of powder, some dies and 200 primers with a couple hundred bullets. She really liked that rifle and nobody has killed a first deer with it.

I don't have a lot, but I don't need a lot, don't even hunt much anymore and I don't target shoot... got enough to take some miscreants out if necessary.... If you think you're going to hold off an invasion, just remember these 3 letters....RPG...

gcs, Dont leave out mortar's, artillery, tanks, choppers, fighters bombers, and drones. Still has to be somebody on the ground with a rifle. We can back those guys. Can do hit and run. Our right to be armed, recognized by the government, is why I doubt we ever get invaded.

I keep hearing that. Based on what? Please explain. Do you store gasoline under ground incase of a shortage.? Describe shortage of ammo? IS it because your local gun shop doesn't have any? Realistically how many people "needed" not wanted some type of ammo but could not get it during the last shortage. If you were going hunting and didn't have enough 22 to shoot 6 squirrels just look in your console. I'm sure you can scratchup enough.

You guys don't know shortages. Growing up I"d leave the house with 7 shells and I better come home with 6 squirrels. That was how it was until I found a guy to buy them for 1 dollar each.

SO you investment guys that bought during the last ammo grab are losing money on your investments? I remember some saying ammo was the greatest investment next to gold. What will happen ? Can you show a loss on your taxes?

I buy monthly on some and quarterly on other ammo. Even when prices were higher, when I found it I bought it. I look for deals but don’t worry too much about it because it’s a business expense. I even buy a couple cases of shotgun ammo every year and may not dove or duck hunt but 2-3 times a year. I don’t buy out places, but just keep a steady supply coming in. That’s one reason I stick with specific calibers. Yeah I may have 5-6 rifles in one caliber, but when they all shoot the same ammo it’s just easier to stockpile.
