My heat/ac is old, not sure how old off hand. IIRC it's 20ish years old. Evergy rates are stupid high anymore and I'm think I'm going to update the heating and cooling unit.

Just wondering who makes a residential unit that's worth the money ?

Dang ok.

I'm surprised with the vast knowledge and skill set of the guys on here that there's not any heating and cooling guys here.

I was in the business for years. My top picks are Carrier and Trane. Eric

Had to replace furnace and AC in our old house before we sold it.........and at the time, concluded if I was buying new forced air system for myself for the long haul, best option would be a combination heat pump furnace and AC, with gas backup when temps dropped low enough heat pump not cutting it.

Is that right or?????

I'm partial to Lennox but I did commercial/industrial HVAC/R work almost exclusively.

I worked HVAC for several years but mostly on Lenox, I've got Lenox in my house and all of them I've been around are were pretty solid equipment, I've had friends in the business as well that would second that and Carrier as well, I've just haven't been around Carrier.

Installed an oxbox made by trane a couple years ago. It has been problem free and replaced a trane that was 25 plus years old.

I pretty much figured that they're all about the same. I don't really care what brand I have as long as it's solid and will give many years of service.
I wanted to see if there was any that particularly stood out in the crowd or one to avoid at all costs. Because we all know that every dealer only sells the best equipment ever made.
