A Buddy of mine bought a storage unit this weekend and found these in it and he’s trying to sell them to me. I haven’t seen him in person yet just wondering what y’all think the whole lot is worth?[Linked Image]

Remember to never put a price tag on another mans horse. He can tell you want he wants and you can buy or pass.

I'd say I don't really need them, but give me a price anyway....now you got an out, or you can "change your mind".... I hate negotiating with friends.

Your buddy probably buys storage units to make money, not give stuff away to friends. If there's something in there you need then maybe make a deal, but he'll get a better price selling on Marketplace or craigslist.

That’s the problem he buy and sells antiques so he’s thinking he has a gold mine . I told him to let me know then I would make a decision but I’m thinking around $100.00 .

Would need number of traps and sizes to give an estimate
Some of those conis look like old square corner 110's. And most of those go pretty cheap. The rest I can't tell size or make or number

I see about $165-200 worth of traps. I'm just guessing most of the traps under the basically worthless snares are single long springs. It's kind of a pig in a poke, but $100 seems like a good deal for you and he won't have to deal with trying to sell them to make himself the other $100 potentially. So I think you're on the right track. Others will probably disagree, but that's the way I see it.

Yea, offer him 100. Doesnt look like a big loss if you dont get them. I always look real good there could be a high value nugget or 3 mixed in. I have about 300 user traps to look at and dont know what to offer, I re-sale and would have to offer a pittance to make a buck on them. I dont want to insult them.

Why would he get mad?- its business. The owner wont give him a price. Soooo If he doesnt like the price given he will soon find out trying to sell them. Around here about the only people that will pay up are the Amish, so he may have that going for him.

Yep!!!

Ask him what he wants for them and then go from there. Friend or no friend negotiating is all part of business and life.

I agree. Never ever be the first one to come up with a price when buying.

$100.00 bucks cash. I buy and sell stuff everyday myself. If he doesn’t like your offer. Let him know the fur market is down. Way down.!!!!!!!

I wouldn’t give any more then that.

My buddies know I trap and would give me the traps.

I have returned the favor over the last several years by reloading ammo for them.

Looks like a bunch of old series 1 victors with weak springs.
Scrap price.

I see a lot of old square jaw body grips, let your buddy sell them and anything else you don’t really need as “antique” traps. Most antique dealers have an inflated mind when looking at traps. Check spring strength and he can sell the junk as wall hangers.

I’ve bought 100’s of those types of traps at auctions in the last 12 months for a $1.00 or so each. 330’s and coyote cat type traps go a lot higher.
