I want to enjoy the Super Bowl a little longer before jumping into baseball. I will turn 80 in March so I may not have too many more seasons left in me. Before I pass on I would really like to see the Phillies win a World Series and Penn State win a National Championship in Football. If by some miracle the Phillies and Penn State could pull it off this year it would make my day.
I got myself a seniors' GPS. Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination, it tells me why I wanted to go there.

Just wondering if the cubs are going to pursue Bregman or not… is Shaw going to be the third baseman or not?? I think we have a really good shot at getting the division … if our starters show up and stay healthy … and getting a quality closer is a step in the right direction. Getting tucker was a delightful surprise

Because we need it!!! Lol no moves but prospects through the off season, got rid of veterans. No moves to help the starting rotation, was told no way anymore the Youngs guys get a chance unless a worthless old fogie get hurt. What's the point of getting young guys if you won't use them or give them a chance??

Sounds like Cubs with Hendricks. He was basically done years ago, but they kept him on for nostalgia I guess. Wish him luck with the Angels.
My expectations for the Phillies isn't as high as the past few years. They had a great first half of a season last year and then played only 500 ball after the All Star break. Then got taken out of the playoffs in the first round by the Mets. The NL East is going to be a toss up this year as the Braves will start off the year healthily, the Mets made a good run last year and the Phillies. I think Nola is past his peak prime and Wheeler might be too, Not sure they have the relief pitching needed to be a top contender. They will need Turner and Harper to have big years and they need their core players to be healthy the entire year.
