Bout to set up a milk crate near a potential Lynx track I saw. I figure if I'm lucky I'll either get a lynx or a dumb coyote. Have snares in the area as well so even if crate doesn't work a snare might.

Our season is late here and we almost always have snow. Coils are probably more effective but I always find myself setting #3N's or #3 offset double long springs first.

I have nothing clever to put here.

I was always a big fan of Sleepy Creek #3 coil regular jaws. Big pan in a compact package. Plenty strong 2-coiled. Easy to set/bed. Too bad more people didn't catch on, the trapping world would be a better place. frown

Bridger 2s here.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Why laminated?

I like my laminations for the reason of having to release animals. I have released a few smaller cats and it just seems like there is less foot damage with laminations. This just my opinion, there are a lot of good traps out there. Plus the #3 has a little more reach in the snow that we have up here.

MB 550 Offset 2 coil. And modified #3 and #4 double longsprings (big pan) for exposed sets.

United we stand.

Same here. Plus, we have a lot of coons that end up in cat sets. I like big traps, but they can be hard on coons.

lots of snow here with thaw in daytime and freeze at night...so i use #4 double longspring ....( coils will freeze down easier).... with the longspings the bottom of spring touching the ground can freese down but the top part of spring not touching the ground wont freeze down and still operate......coils in the warmer climate

I use 550s exposed with a single on the pan. Haven't had any problems and we get a lot of snow
