I believe that there is an ulterior motive. Right now gaza is a wasteland nobody wants, to allow Palestinians to remain there is just idiotic, another war is just inevitable . So Trump expressing his desire for Gaza, for a base or hotels, whether genuine or not, now gives value and creates desire among Arabs and others who will hopefully step up and out bid the US, 3D chess? maybe. I would bet one of the Arabs has a piece of desert they would house Palestinian's on in exchange for ocean front property.

I think it was less 3d chess and more talking without having put serious thought into it.

First of all nobody wants the Palestinians, they've been a burr under the saddle to everyone forever, but none of the neighboring countries want the US there....So Trump claims he wants Gaza, and keeps saying it to keep up the pressure on the Arab countries , who will eventually cave and take on the aggravation of dealing with Palestinians, Saudi Arabia has all the money they can ever use so will probably bankroll the whole thing as long as they can get Jordan and Egypt to babysit the Gazans for awhile....Does anyone seriously think Trump, or the US actually wants that crap hole?

The U.S. was the first country to recognize Israel after the European jews immigrated there ILLEGALLY. It was called Palestine and part of the British empire. The illegals blew up police stations and other stuff. The Arabs living there fled. The U.S. recognized their sovereignty and the British also shortly after. The Arab refugees were told they could not return.

Most every country has borders established by war. Right or wrong its the world we live in. If Israel wants to remain Israel they need to do it their selves. Pretending they are blameless is disingenuous.

Yes the attempt to create two nations out of part of the old Ottoman empire through force has been a wonderful success story.

There are way more than two countries that previously weren't in existence born out of the destruction of the Ottoman empire.

There are 39 new countries that came out of the Ottoman Empire and 4 old countries that survived it.
