We have nothing to back up the money they are currently printing now. Without knowing more details, this sounds like an idea that I wouldn't agree with.

No one knows what is actually going on. You know whoever is reporting it is almost guaranteed to be slanting it to make Trump look bad. So it's really just dumb to bother arguing about it, but there will be a bunch on here that will happily pile on. LOL

Google Trump wanting to sell gold Reserves I did exactly that and didn't find any article that provides a direct quote he wants to sell gold as you put it. A link to your article would be helpful I'm not in favor of the US selling any of it's gold reserve.

Think of this as a personal finance situation, you have $100,000 in debt that you pay 4% interest on. You also have $33,333 in Gold sitting in your vault at home not making interest, not really doing anything, just sitting. Do you sell the Gold to pay down the debt or do you just sit on the Gold and continue to pay interest? You logically pay the debt with the gold. Keith

I would not bet on the gold still even being in fort knocks
and why pay it back when you can just devalue your currency and pay it back with deflated $.
Ever wonder why the fed wants 2% inflation not 0.

They are saying that our gold reserve is valued at $22.00 a ounce that is value that it was many years ago and since it’s up to almost $300.00 a ounce now they could sell and put all that cash back into the government account but I don’t think that is good for anybody as stated in previous post by ctraps we can’t back our printing now so why not just revalue our gold stash no reason to sell it off heck we all now how to revalue our possessions why can’t they Gold is almost $3000.00 an ounce now, not $300.00.
Sometimes nothing can be a real cool hand
