Thought I'd upgrade my 7tcu with a bit of power. So got a actual pistol scope on it vs the red dot I had
[Linked Image]

Problem is ....well my arms are a bit shorter then the average persons I guess so I gotta get my head wayy back past being comfortable . Was able to took though some Burris and Leupolds and it's about the same
[Linked Image]

Thought I could mabye just use something like a LPVO on it . Lotta the target guys said they just use regular rifle scopes on there but ....well with the way this sucker bucks I'm not the most comfortable with this
[Linked Image]

Any suggestions ? Maybe a scout scope ?

Dot sight?

I have a ex friend who can hit a rock at 425 with one.
He is the best free hand shooter I have ever met…
Too bad he turned into a Willy……

That's what I had originally. Works decent but not the best for load development . Fun to shoot though

maybe a scout scope but I would start by , turn the magnification all the way down.
stand up strait , feet a little wider than shoulder width apart and push out to full extension while standing tall so that your arms are strait both of them making a nice triangle , rotate your shoulders forward a bit as well.

does that get you enough distance off the scope to see?

I find most pistol scopes to be too short of eye relief , but I have you by over a foot and ape arms to go with

I would also try an extended rail from EGW and a cantilever front mount , these are what I use to get rifle scopes so that the back of the scope is even with the trigger

but you want to know if you are going to be close , if that inch and a half you might gain will be enough to spend the coin.

there are also tricks for shooting a dot more accurately

turn the gain down find the lowest setting you can still find the dot , now don't cover the target with it , hover it just above the top of the target , this is how I shoot rams in silhouettes , hover the dot over it and read the wind are you holding over the head or the rump

Yep I tried all the way down , it's a 2-7 and it's just not there for me without having my head cocked way back. Was gonna try the cantilever deal but then I'd have to get a new rail and all...which isn't too big of a deal I guess but as you see I'm pretty far back and I don't know if the inc or two I'll gain from it will help that much

grab a yard stick , figure out exactly where you can see through it by clamping it in the vice or something like that , padded jaws now from your eye brow to the back of the scope what do you need to get to see right.

now hold the gun where it is natural with your eyes close and get your wife to measure where you want to be from the back edge of the frame , now you have a reference to work from.

now you can use your numbers to make a better decision

and when you go to a store a little pocket tap measure held to the side of the scope as you hold it out and look through , with the other end held to your eyebrow will tell you what you need to see through each scope.

Ya know it didn't even dawn on me to do that while I was at the house laugh so used to just needing to scooch a scope forward or backwards a inch or two and it's good laugh

3X spitfire prism sight might work well. Eye relief is like a good red dot ,has a nice dot and 2 circle reticle. Reticle is etched in , so it works even when turned off.

Put a picatinny mount on it. scope can move + or - 4" or so.
