One thing to remember is that most of the waters that these cruises run there is no police jurisdiction so if you get robbed, raped or tossed overboard (Yes they all happen) nobody is going to investigate it in many cases. The perves and robbers know this so guess where they hang?

I've seen footage of some cruises where they must have booked every thug from the south side of Chicago on those boats.

Guess we, mostly the wife, have been lucky over the last 15yrs or so, lol. Y’all making it sound like a prison. Hear horror stories about hunting accidents, heck even people on here catching themselves and breaking bones, car accidents, etc. I’m sure there’s a horror story out there for everything there is to do in life, but that doesn’t mean it’s the norm.

Update;

I reported that one of our employees daughter and son inlaw went on a cruise. Both got sick, treated in the sick bay for two days, returned to their cabins to be quaranteed for 3 more days. Missed most of the cruise activities due to their illnesses.

They got into dock at New Orleans. Daughter was able to fly home while still sick, however her husband was taken by ambulance to a regional hospital in critical condition, said he would likely not survive the flight home. He continued treatment there for flu like symtoms, then it progressed to pneumonia.

He then developed a blood infection of some sort ( hopefully not leukemia )and is on high dose antibiotic infusions. They inserted a picc line and was just released with his picc line to fly home just a few days ago. He was hospitalized for 13 days in New Orleans. He has to continue his infusions for another week or so.

Out of pocket costs I hear for them were $3600 for the cruise ship medical treatment alone. Had to pay before they off loaded.

Wife wanted to go on a cruise some years ago. I told her to take her sister I had no interest in it. She was mad for a while but has not brought it up again.

So he didn’t get sick “from” the cruise, just happened to be sick when he got on the cruise?

spending days on end with 5000 of my new best friends around every corner doesn't sound like fun to me.

I'd rather fly to the destination and then explore from there.
