Picked up a few cats this year that had their bladders full. What is the best way of preserving that?

Haha, ain’t bought urine in years. 95% of every cat I catch has a full bladder. Even these young of the year have a decent amount. Cut out bladder and squeeze in a bottle. Use bladder as a lure.

I add a little salt as preservative.

No preservation needed on good, clean urine. Just add it to a clean jar and let it go.

Hey coop, lighten up...nothing too smart-alecky in the responses that I see. I add a little non iodized salt to keep it stable. I had asked the same question you're asking some years ago on the lure forum and people a lot smarter than me suggested that as the best.

Go back to bed and get up on the other side cause you definitely got up on the wrong side. Long term, pour it in a bottle and keep it out of the sun. Pretty simple answer to a simple question. Pure urine ain’t going bad. Not sure how you can get upset over my comment unless you’re just that type of person, lol.

You need some anger management therapy if this answer upsets you.

Over 3/4 full on my bottle already. Still got a couple weeks to fill it up and put it away. I swear this stuff gets more potent the longer it sits. The cat this morning sprayed and was “leaking” on the hitch haul, but still had a full bladder when opened up.

Freezing is the best method if you have a freezer available that does NOT contain food you want to eat

I collect red fox urine. I keep it in a plastic squeeze bottle with a flip top for use on the line and a larger (quart) plastic bottle for the extra.

Any leftover is just stored in those bottles in my fur shed. It gets hot in there in the summer but it doesn't seem to have any negative affect on the pee.

Longer than season to season storage it would probably be better to freeze it or store it in glass and refrigerate it.

Eh...wot?

Same here. I throw in a little glycerin to keep it from freezing too.
