I add a little salt as preservative.

Haha, ain’t bought urine in years. 95% of every cat I catch has a full bladder. Even these young of the year have a decent amount. Cut out bladder and squeeze in a bottle. Use bladder as a lure. No Einstein. I was looking for advice on long term storage for bladder cat p but i got a smart-comment from someone who doesn't know. Thanks. You da man but im sure you'll remind yourself again shortly. Anyon3 have a long term idea?

Hey coop, lighten up...nothing too smart-alecky in the responses that I see. I add a little non iodized salt to keep it stable. I had asked the same question you're asking some years ago on the lure forum and people a lot smarter than me suggested that as the best.

Long term, pour it in a bottle and keep it out of the sun. Pretty simple answer to a simple question. Pure urine ain’t going bad. Not sure how you can get upset over my comment unless you’re just that type of person, lol.

I collect red fox urine. I keep it in a plastic squeeze bottle with a flip top for use on the line and a larger (quart) plastic bottle for the extra.
Any leftover is just stored in those bottles in my fur shed. It gets hot in there in the summer but it doesn't seem to have any negative affect on the pee.
Longer than season to season storage it would probably be better to freeze it or store it in glass and refrigerate it.
Eh...wot?

Sodium Benzoate.Available from M.T.P. at top of this page. Same here. I throw in a little glycerin to keep it from freezing too.
