Gold does not have a limited supply
Of course it does. Well unless you think we are going to mine astroids.

Likely longer,,,
Before gold it was beads and seashells
Wanted to add:
Just on Bloomberg,,,
If the US government pegs the price of their gold higher than currently
It will generate a substantial amount of cash,,,,,,?
Not sure how that would work??? But that’s what they’re saying

My post was in response to “ you can't print more gold there is only so much”
Fact: New gold is minted daily,,,,
Fact: New discoveries are common,,,,
Carry on,,, Somewhat true, however, economically exploitable deposits are very few, and when they are discovered, the lead time from discovery to mining is usually well over ten years.

Gold does not have a limited supply
Gold does have a limited supply. We just dont know how much there is left to be able to mine and how practical it will be to mine the rest of it.

I don't have an opinion on this but I do have a question... A dollar is worth a dollar because it's an agreed value. Gold is a precious metal but isn't it valuable also because it's agreed that it is? The Bible says in the end times a loaf of bread will buy a bag of gold. So at some point, bread will be more valuable than gold because it is needed more. So I guess my question is why is it necessary to back paper money with gold anymore? Everything is agreed value.. until it isn't. No, the Bible doesn't say that. That is a line out of an old Larry Norman song. I stand corrected. However, Revelations 6:6 has the same general message

When Reagan was President we reset the value of our gold to make the budget appear to be balanced. The gold assets magically increased in value, making the asset side of our sheet equal to the liability side, all with the stroke of a pen.
I don’t think we should spend our gold!

I just retired from working at the giant Copper mine here in Utah, in the truck shop working on those haulers.
I know a bit about how much gold there is in the world, and it is totally unknown, yea there are guess's and estimates but this mine here alone is minor in gold production, it is actually taken as a secondary product in the clean up of the furnace output, in fact it's not really something the company aims for on a continuous basis ! 330,300 ounces a year as a salvage product LOL
However it's enough to pay for most of the mine running's and other things, they know where it is , they know when they need to get more, those say that gold is limited may be correct in one area of the world, but world wide, there is no estimate of it ever not being found and never being mined again LOL
Much more rare is Terrilum and the mine has learned how to process it on site as well, and it's been laid all over the mine footprint as a waste material for many years, it's is now flagged and is being processed way more quickly than the gold ever is.
Are there other things out there that may be worth more in some sort of use as the mighty human gets smarter, certainly, when is the question !
So I would assume it's just a matter of what is the most needed at the time of needing it which and why the cost is adjusted to feed the supplier, not the first time our gold supply has been adjusted in value, won't be the last either !
