Time to recert physical for DOT and it launched me into a lack of freedom rant witnessed by by youngest. He engaged with the “what freedom has been lost?” To which I replied with the simple truth that we have to ask the government for permission to do so much, from utilizing resources, even land that has been purchased, just for starters. He pointed out that those things are not that concerning to his generation currently. I asked him how he and his friends would feel if they had to pay a fee as well as register with the government for every game they played online, and have to renew it every year with a fee. Suddenly the government became an issue. lol

I just got my DOT physical this past Friday, mine serves to satisfy the requirement for my crane operators license which is required every 3 years. Between the CDL, NCCO, and PA Crane Operators license I have a bit of cash laid out, which has prevented absolutely no accidents, nor kept anyone safer. I concur with your assesment Hobbie Trapper, simply another cash grab by the man.

Best part is I pay one doctor to sign that piece of paper then my regular doctor tells me what pills to take but can’t the paper what a rip-off.

Yep. My insurance will not cover it, I pay strangers to check my reflexes and pee in a cup so I can drive, lol.

That's because the doctors who sign off have to buy better insurance policies, that cost more. They often get sued if the person they signed off on has an accident.

Not sure your analogy to the youngster makes sense. You keep the license to make money correct? Maybe I’m misunderstanding your post.

Got mine last week by a physical therapist

I know but the one that signs the paper tells me to go to my regular doctor for medication and the dot doc does nothing really.

Yeah, my remedy is just having my Doc do the physical and pay myself. The company I’m driving for said they don’t care as long as the Doc is on the registry to perform the physical.
