Gypsy horses, also known as Irish Cob or Gypsy Vanner horses, are a unique and fascinating breed that originated in the British Isles.
These horses are known for their stocky build, long flowing manes and tails, and the striking feathering on their legs.
They were traditionally used by Romani people as working horses, but today they are also used for pleasure riding and as show horses. Gypsy horses are highly prized for their gentle disposition, loyalty, and willingness to work, making them a popular choice for both novice and experienced horse owners. With their distinctive appearance and charming personalities, Gypsy horses are a beloved breed among equestrians .

If ever a person could imagine a gay horse…..

Actually quite beautiful, amazing what time and careful selective breeding can bring out in animals.

I really like the “fluff” on their lower legs. Must be a heck of a mess in a muddy paddock or field. smile

Nice Vanner. They are popular riding horses, and in the hunter cross country groups, not a few also ride them in those sports. They come in different colours . Some have black legs and feathering. As draft breeds go, they aren't as tall as they seem.

Anything white shows dirt that much easier. There are shampoo bleaches that the show circuit uses in cleaning them up. If you want to see snow white perfect feathering, have a look at the Bud Clydes when they're all harnessed up. Lots of time goes into such perfect white feathering on those giants.

All the drafts are a favorite for me.

Nice photo, thanks !

GT, I don't know. I figure the prices vary, depending on the breeder, or cross bred, or locality of population. That's just in America. Across Europe and Canada could be a different deal altogether.

Here are some Vanners I keep in my draft folder. Along with perfect white feathers of the Bud Clydesdales.
