Thanks for all the advice everyone. Found a 3 piece set of Dexters I'm going to try. Real reasonable price if they're as good as you all say. I'm looking forward to trying them. I assume the Dexter steak knives are quality too? I'm tired of the cheap ones my wife has in the kitchen.

Hey ADC, ordered the knife sharpener you recommended, got the 15 degree model, it works great...I have other pull through sharpeners that work but this one works better. Thanks...

Great. I have one in the kitchen, fur shed, truck, and by my fish cleaning station in the shop. If it should ever stop working, it's probably gummed up (only the one in the fur shed does this, maybe every 500 coons) you can take out the screws, clean up the little stones or whatever they are on the inside, and it's back to new.

probably pick up another regular model for everything other than kitchen knives.... I saw on the reviews some people complained it ruined their knives, I don't know how they did that but I had zero problems....

I bought my Cutco knives from my American cousin 20 years ago. It was indeed to help pay for his tuition, so I was happy to buy them at the time, since I was doing well and I believed in him.
I use them every day, and have never regretted my purchase. They are good quality, USA made (by Batman) and hold an edge well.
You can find good deals on them at resale shops and online.

Just happy to be here.

I don't get the Batman reference? LOL

I wonder how many folks know that Cutco owns KA-BAR, the famous maker of military knives?

The KA-BAR plant is right next to the main Cutco plant in NY.

Eh...wot?

There was a gent from PA in here (PSB) who was kind enough to respond to my posts on here often when I was just starting out. He used to refer to himself as Batman occasionally. He worked at the Cutco factory there if I recall correctly

Just happy to be here.
