What do you do to help veterans? I am sure you could do more since it is such a concern of yours.

Sounds like he may not use their services like me. That is good for everybody else. If everybody did that..........

I've heard horror stories about some VAs in certain areas of the country. However, the VA in my area has been a fantastic facility. I can't say enough good things about them. They bend over backwards to help their veterans. Every vet I know that uses them will tell you that they are amazing.

My doctor suggested I start doing squats, so I moved all the beer to the bottom shelf of my fridge.

It may be the Veteran Services may even be more important if the estimate of 30% of the fired Federal Employees are Veterans? I'm not aware of what benefits a Fed Employee had or if it was top of the line services?

Community Care Network was designed to reduce wait times in specialty areas. Approval must be given by the VA system. The system lives to support itself. All vets should have the right to choose where they receive services if the service is not timely. Crisis services are not provided in a timely manner in a lot of cases. Sending a vet from one visn to another, 300 miles away from where they live, is not giving them the best choice when CCN has services in the community they live in. Effectively the VA is open for full business Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday. God help you if you need help after 4 pm most days. Yes, ER’s across the country must serve them, whenever they show up. That process has saved thousands of lives. But no decision for further care will be made until Tuesday Wednesday or Thursday. Private ER’s have to comply with medical necessity for VA clients just like private insurances and they will be discharged before VA help is provided. And the cycle continues.

The VA employees are generally in it for the Vets. It’s the system that slows it all down. Rules for the rules. Personally know many vets that have been failed by the system and are dead because of it.

Will the system improve with the new leadership? Yes. Because the first vet secretary ever is leading it now. Will it last, who the f knows.

Praise the Lord and Pass the ammunition.

Everything you are saying about CCN is correct for my area. I know because I had a situation as you described. I was well taken care of by both facilities. Our VA puts their veterans welfare first.

Worked with several Vets from the Twin cities area and it was impressive what they did for them.

Did you see who "estimated" that?

From what I understand, the DAV is trying to get dental care for all vets enrolled in VA care. Would be a great benefit.

My Dad has been very happy with the VA for years. His only gripe lately is over trying to navigate the "My healthy vet" app or whatever it is. He is not an app type guy.

I have nothing clever to put here.

That app worked fine for several years. Now, of course, they have updated it and required a new login procedure. Remember......when something works well, government must intervene to make it more difficult

Go to a regular appointment in family practice
When they ask the questions and they will
Tell the truth and they will do something
For years I went to those appointments and never quite expressed the difficulties
Then a year ago, they asked and I told everything
I was sent directly over and left with a plan and an appointment 2 days later
I’ve been seeing a therapist for a year now and I’m part of the new emdr test treatment
