In Central America, they call iguanas “tree chickens”.

If you want to surprise her with a meal from back home, you can purchase frozen iguanas out of Florida, fairly cheaply. We ate iguana for New Years Day a few years ago. It was okay, fairly chicken like.

Most of the iguanas harvested in Florida are shipped to Central and South America.

i would love to do something like that! the rest of my kids would just sh-t! they dont trust anything in a crockpot with bbq sauce! i worked at our local school as the maintenence guy and whenever the teachers would have some potluck thing i would always offer to bring a dish. all would politely decline and say "we have plenty". but at the end of the year when i cooked fish and chicken for the whole district there was a very long line!!!

We grilled iguana, roasted iguana and made some iguana carpaccio. I liked iguana grilled best.

Chickens are descendants of dinosaurs. So are lizards. Why wouldn't they taste like chicken. Lizards probably don't eat their own poo like chickens do.

or you wait for the coldest day of the year down to about 30 and they fall out of the trees and people pick them up sometimes by the truck bed worth.

And the fruit bats on Guam also taste like chicken, but different than the iguana.

I know fruit bats get big. How much meat was on them? Do you just eat the legs? Do they have a big enough loin to eat?

I would like to eat a fruit bat.
