Legalizing drugs and getting rid of private prisons would be a good start here in the US. Yeah, just ask Oregon how well that has worked out. You had a look at San Francisco lately? If you are the poster child for libertarians, THANK GOD they have no political standing. Libertarians would win hands down in some elections, but like democrats are dumb enough to embrace men in women's sports, libertarians are dumb enough to embrace legalizing all drugs when it CLEARLY has never worked.Shaking my head!! The war on drugs isn't working out too well, either.

Again, Oregon and San Francisco. Exhibit A and B. In considering the "War on Drugs" or living in a cesspool of a city where drugs are legal, I will take the "War on Drugs" all day long.
How many lies will people believe before they realize their own idiocy?

Outlaw Narcan and a lot of users would get off the drugs or just be gone. That’s a one way ticket that most don’t want. Thumbs up!!

Oregon and San Francisco are examples of welfare states with legalized drugs, and are irrelevant to the libertarian viewpoint. Libertarians support drug legalization and the end of the welfare state.

If drugs are legalized and there is no welfare, druggies will die. Sounds as if libertarians are for survival of the fittest and everyone else can die.
And campaigning on ending the welfare state is a sure way to lose any election. As long as they can vote, they will always vote themselves a raise or something more.

People should take responsibility for their health and not rely on big gov to take care of them after years of abusing their body, whether that's through free trips to the hospital after injecting heroin, or having Medicare pay for diabetes medicine after a lifetime of eating over-processed garbage and sugar. They're both the same as far as I'm concerned. In both cases, someone knowingly makes bad choices and abuses their own body, and when they inevitably reap the consequences, they expect others to pay the bill for their bad choices. As far as I see, it's a bigger issue than just drugs. It's about being responsible for yourself, and whether or not other people are responsible for paying for the bad choices of others.

You do know big pharma is a MAJOR campaign contributor to all, correct?
Money wins campaigns.
Libertarians are doomed with these platforms.

Outlaw Narcan and a lot of users would get off the drugs or just be gone. That’s a one way ticket that most don’t want. About 4% of the US population is addicted to opiods and most of those get Narcan at least once. Stopping Narcan use would stop most repeat opioid users over time. Keith

I’m former LEO and had to go to a 8hr class to be able to carry and administer Narcan but a junkie can get narcan by just being a junkie no school For them and our state is lookin into building a new prison but everyone is against it I just don’t see there views we need to do prisons like animal shelters go start out here today and in so many days you wind up out back lol Exactly. If they can't be released safely into society they need put down. No reason to pay to keep them locked up 30 years

Libertarians are doomed with these platforms. Well gosh. I guess whoever spends the most has the best ideas. Yes, whoever has the most money wins. Sad fact but if you have the money to buy up all the air time, TV, radio and internet, only your message gets out. Money and the aggressive use of force are what rule this world. Always has. Always will. Now let's do some correlations. If you want to legalize drugs, then we would have to legalize all other aspects of the drug manufacture. Seeds, farming, packaging, potency, taxes, delivery, retail. All of those aspects would require *GASP* regulation. The amount of money some farmers would make to begin with would be amazing. I have heard stories of legal pot farmers doing quite well. But that would drive the prices of food up because farmers would clamor to grow pot or coca, Then the price of food would go up due to less supply and the price of dope would go down due to increased supply. So more people would be on dope due to being legal and easily accessible. And GOD knows we need more high people in this world. It helps us all think better is what we are told by dope addicts. So legalizing dope would create even more regulation which is what makes libertarians flip their lids. I have never understood libertarians need for legal dope. It is what kills their chances all the time. I guess if you beat your head against the wall enough, the wall will eventually give. Maybe? I would be a libertarian if it were not for this view. I can't associate myself with someone who thinks legal meth is ok.
How many lies will people believe before they realize their own idiocy?

Prisoners painting bridges, fixing wildlife highway fences, potholes, cleaning up litter. NOT abusing people, but making them do productive physical labor. I live in a state where they don't hardly incarcerate anyone except for a firearm violation, plenty of those, especially if you happen to be an Anglo. Hard work would make a lot of offenders not want back in.

In Ohioi when i was a kid, all incarceration was rough.
The worst went to old fashioned prisons with tall walls, barbed wire, and towers for guards with machine guns. The less severe went to work farms. They could be seen wearing leg irons and striped suits working in the fields growing produce for the prison system.
Nowadays there is a huge prison complex west of Columbus. They spent waaaay too much money on the project. And lesser criminals are out picking up litter all summer long.
Maybe send our worst criminals to Venezuela?
