I am in a similar situation but far younger than you. I went to an attorney that specializes in Estate Planning. Up until a few years ago, I have left everything to an "association" but something happened that made me change my mind. We wrote everything up, took care of Transfer on Death deeds for the real estate and all that jazz. My Niece gets everything and everyone else can go suck an egg. Start to finish it was less than $1,000.

It is important to ensure that your intent is crystal clear. So, make sure to specifically disinherit those who would inherit pursuant to the statute of descent and distribution. It is also a good idea to state that anyone who contests will receive nothing.
We are similarly situated. Will leave everything to a foundation that we created.

No one is entitled to anything. Give it to your favorites. This, but only after you do your best to spend it all first.

It has been too long ago so I don't remember all the details but as I recall, if all the documents including the Will are registered with the court, that keeps them free from any Probate proceedings.

Has any of you recorded a video of yourself discussing who gets what? I think it’s a neat idea.
‘“ Tommy, I leave you nothing, since you have been a D-Bag most of your adult life”. lol I would have some fun with this… I didn't do a video, but the last paragraph of my Will does state the type of "send off" I want along with some pretty specific instructions. The last line is "It better not be lame either"!

Was it a choice that you have no kids?
There are plenty of organizations that help kids that really need it. You could also go the scholarship route for an individual that puts in the work to earn it.
