It is your money. Do what you want with it. At 70. You have a long ways to go. Enjoy what you worked for. If there is anything left. So be it. Don’t worry about it. X2

I could be adopted pretty easily! My wife and I are late 60's and are talking about what to do with all the stuff and land and no kids also. I was just getting ready to say that Corky has always been like a father to me....LOL

St judes research hospital. Never look back Or the Shriners. Corky, do everything you can legally. Your biggest challenge is choosing executors plural, you can trust if needed. After it’s Done, safety deposit box, copy to the lawyer, and never discuss it or think about it again. Go enjoy life, trust me this one shot existence is fun even when you’re old! Osky

Good luck. My wife's brothers brought lawyers into the hospital room while their Dad was dying and got him to change the will and it stood. Love of money is the root of all evil.

A lawyer told us that if we didn't have a will in Nebraska, the state sure as heck does have a plan for it. Not sure if all states are the same.

I am in a similar situation but far younger than you. I went to an attorney that specializes in Estate Planning. Up until a few years ago, I have left everything to an "association" but something happened that made me change my mind. We wrote everything up, took care of Transfer on Death deeds for the real estate and all that jazz. My Niece gets everything and everyone else can go suck an egg. Start to finish it was less than $1,000. Must be that niece you went on that fishing trip with, I believe last spring.

We had to sneak that trip in before she started her new job at the Mayo. She is getting married in June this year so I will go alone. I haven't seen or spoken to her bothers in probably 6-8 years.

I say your are right on point. My kids will likely not get equal inherentance. I'm watching them develop and how they handle themselves and treat others as well as Handel money. I'm not leaving the same amount to be blown and ran through fast if one is a spend thrift and the other's are responsible.
Same goes if they make life choices I don't agree with. Maybe one stickes around and takes better care of us when we age why would the ones that don't get the same amount?
Things change so have it so it's no to difficult to make changes to your wishes and you can make changes with the situation.
Heck maybe it will all go to a future grand kid or two or maybe I will spend everything who knows.

No one is entitled to anything. Give it to your favorites. X2. My boys know all of my demands. Only two conditions I don’t care the color of the future wife but no Democrats and a Christian. That determines my legacy and direction of future generations.

^ that is awesome!!! She will be a lucky girl that is for sure. I am pretty proud of her and what she made of herself. I don't think much of either of her parents but somehow she kept pointed in the right direction and made something out of herself.
