What do you guys/gals run for locks on your wolf snares and do you run kill springs.

I like two different kinds for wolves. A standard heavy duty Berkshire, that I can cut with a hack saw, so it will let moose go if they get in the snare, with one 75# spring. I don't hang too many of these, only when I have to and I might catch a moose.

I also use toothed cam locks on the rest of the snares. I always use a kill spring. 75# for wolves. This is what I use mostly. But these are hung mostly moose proof so no release on these.
(Moose proof means- hang the snare under a heavy branch that is leaning on one side of the trail. Moose will walk over it. Wolves will run under it. Mostly moose proof)

You being in Ontario, should check on the "Lights Out" snares. They are doing very well in the trapper circles up in Canada. Good luck.

My Super Wide will pull your broken down 4 stroke, up a hill backwards, with you on it!

Cam or Thompson locks. I also cut the Thompson locks and use a 500 pound BAD on the cams for moose.
