I am following as I used CCO method last year and had all nine of my best coyote pelts slip after I took them out of the brine

McKenzie taxidermy has ph strips that read 1.1 1.2 so on so you can really dial in your pickle. I used the same ones as you with success but plan on getting the more accurate ones when I re order also for your tan remember you can add some pickle to lower the ph or baking soda to raise it so don’t dump all your pickle juice. Hey Beavis...did he say " Dial in your Pickle "...?

As soon as I opened this and saw the bucket I was afraid your septic had froze up! The thread title would be much different then! Would be more like “I’m up the creek!!!” Or “crap outta luck!”

I’ll update as days go by and try to show you the color of the skin side as it changes. Just put it inside the bucket. Pond rock holding it down
You won't see any color changes other than on your pH strips until you start breaking the hide.

Oh the skin looks a bit whiter to me this morning! That is the color it is right before the hair falls off, it will be a rare Mexican hairless fox in no time.
