I have nothing clever to put here.

I might see a small percentage of savings, say 10%, be returned to TAXPAYERS. Then people would have an incentive to look for more waste and do more serious program cutting. I fear that the money would also be given to nontaxpayers which is a nonstarter for me. Best to put it towards the debt. And/or fix social security.

This is a good idea, but I would raise the amount to 50%, to get people on board the idea that cutting government spending makes a big difference to their bottom line. Keith

dumping money into the hands of citizens just creates more inflation. if they are going to give out 5000 dollar checks they should only go to people who paid in 5000 or more.

X 6. Dumping that amount of cash into consumer’s hands at the same time will simply lead to more inflation. With only so many goods available to sell, everyone having more money to spend on those goods will drive up prices for everyone. Exactly, better put your cash into assets so you can retain the value.

Use the money saved to go toward the national debt and to replace the funds that were stolen from Social Security because that is an unpaid debt too.

I think the savings would have to be in the 750 billion range to give every taxpayer a $5,000 refund. The savings would have to be about 15 to 20 percent of the Federal budget.
Dream big!
