How about buying a frozen pizza at 7-11 they ring it up then cook it for free and that makes it good for food stamp purchase. Before I retired working in the grocery store there were people coming in with 2-3 k on their cards.

Now i understand why Oregon is on the verge of losing trapping rights like Washington state. Maine right behind them, must be something about living along coast that don't get warm and have sugary sand beach's and bikini's, lol.

This isn't a conservative or liberal thing. Just common sense to not allow "foodstuffs" that aren't good for you to be paid for with taxpayers' money. As Kennedy says "Poison". If people want to eat junk food buy it with their own money-not the taxpayers'. I'm in favor of the staples and probably cooking classes since a lot of these folks don't think beyond what a microwave can cook.
The year my family lived in Costa Rica (1967) we lived on rice and beans. Dad used to buy a 45 kilo bag of each. And a stalk of maybe120 bananas.
So I applaud Kennedy for taking aim at what has been a disaster for the poor in this country.

Believe it or not, we’ve beaten three (I think) ballot initiatives to ban trapping! Must be at least a couple more liberals than just the peeler that thinks there is a place/need for regulated trapping.

Grocery stores here will fry chicken and sell it hot. What doesn't sell and some designated chicken is cooked to be purposefully cooled and sold for EBT at a higher price than hot. I guess worming it up is considered "cooking".
Either way, making our food healthier will only benefit the entire country as a whole. Expect a major fight from companies making HFCS and food dyes and preservatives. They have A LOT of money.
Everyone knows sugar and HFCS is bad for you. Yet, you never hear ANYTHING about eating less or eliminating it. Reason? Big sugar has contributed LOTS O MOOLAH to all candidates. Sugar is 100X worse for you than salt, but salt is the boogeyman according to doctors and nutrition experts. I am seeing this opinion changing.
Again, expect a big fight and lots of political fan dances.
How many lies will people believe before they realize their own idiocy?

Funny comment from my wife (Colombiana): "How come poor people in my country are skinny.... and poor people in yours are fat?"

I read where Jr. is wanting to make raw milk more readily available for human consumption.

Snap benefits should only be used for meat, potatoes, yeast, flour, and sugar, if people want sweets make it. You forgot the beans, rice, and lard. And powdered milk, salt, pepper, some cinnamon and nutmeg. Not trying to torture folks, just make them work for it. And vegetable seeds. I have no problem giving folks a hand up to take care of themselves.

I’d like him to go after the OTC supplement market, starting with the drug that claims to improve our memory. I can’t remember the name of that supplement. Lol

I'm guessing that at the end of Kennedy's term, very little will have changed. The agriculture, food and drug industries will not allow the loss of money his policies would cause. Hope I'm wrong. Does not matter if your in USA, Canada, Europe or Russia. Follow the money and you will see why decisions are made.
