I hear ya, my retired deputy friend in metezee says there are way too many, trapping coyote he had to release 3 just this year.
The guy that got the old female, it's the third one his dog treed this year, the friend that was with him wants to get the big male ,they saw the tracks.
My friend wants a second dog because just one dog they don't stay treed, and a lion could just kill the dog he says

One good dog is all you need for a lion. I've caught alot with a single dog without issues.

It would be interesting to see that females travels if they would provide it.

99% of the time. My Brother in law in WY had a big lion come out of a tree and kill his single dog about 10 years ago you could see it all unravel in the snow. Now he typically runs 3-4 dogs.

She probably killed more deer than normal if she was only eating the insides.
My friend will get at least one more dog I think, I think he's going out again this morning
