Get a little magnet for your bench swager to help hold the cable and catch splinters

That should work. The magnet is a great idea, there is a ton of good ideas from people that think up solutions to problems I didn’t even know I had on here.

I've had one for awhile. Does the job, no problems!

Just make sure the swager you get is compatible with the ferrules you use.

They are NOT standardized.

It'll work for swagging, but don't expect it to cut cable, at least I've not seen one that will cut it clean.

These are the best cable cutters you can buy. They are just as good as the Swiss made C7's (which are the high standard) but for a lot less money. I have thousands and thousands of cuts with mine and with my C7's, I see no reason to spend more. ... http://btemodels.com/cablecutters.html get the small version and they are the very best for cutting your loops off the animals you catch too.

The one I got from southern snares cuts cable pretty smoothly with clean ends. Course any time you're using cable either snares, stakes or extensions you should always have a handheld pair to cut cable.
