Bunch of people,wildlife biologists,State inland fisheries and wildlife departments,etc ....

That’s the largest killer of deer here. “They” are stupid.

Here in Maine as well along with some deer being killed by bobcats,and adult male lynx.

Some also say Bobcats can't kill deer

Not just Maine

“They” arent saying that around here.

I dont think bobcats kill as many adult deer as coyotes. They are quick to scavenge them though. Those big toms get their share of deer kills.

they kill horses , why wouldn't they kill deer

I mean technically they run them around till they run through a fence get hurt or run them back and forth across the highway till a car gets one , run them into a deep drift of snow , or just plain run them to death.

Where do u guys get this stuff at??? Not saying it's not possible it happened once but I've been involved with the horse industry my whole life and a lot of my friends also and have never seen a problem. Now domestic dogs are a completely different situation.

had a pack of coyotes in a deep snow year running horses back and forth across highway 81 in Rock County WI , ran them through some fences and eventfully the horse was hit by a car.
the coyotes didn't get the meal because they moved the horse and wrecked car right away

I can't find the news story on it , it was a good ten 12 years ago
but it happened maybe 15 miles from where I live.

here is an example from Detroit area , it was even a sherrifs horse
this is why I feel constant pressure on coyotes is important because when left alone too long they get bold because they have no fear


as the officer said had it been a group of horses it would have been a lot less likely
which is probably why you don't have issues in the west were you keep a bunch of horses on pasture together.
here there are a lot of 10 acre places with 1-2 horse or they are kept in separate runs

now I am not saying we don't have coydogs and coywolves but you never admit that or you have another issue on your hands , so looks like a coyote , it is a coyote don't split hairs it hurt you more than helps you.

Lots of 10 acre 1-2 horse pens here. Got a huge coyote population too. Yes Sir is right. Those same 10 acre folks move here from cities. First thing they do is get 3-4 dogs and let them run loose. Then get mad when somebody shoots a couple. I have been asked to trap by several people whose own dog(s) were their problem.

I'm sorry but most people in Detroit couldn't tell if a horse was chased by coyote or a werewolf
