I used Brownells Oxphoe bluing
On the stock I used a light oak color stain and Tru oil for the finish.
And lots of steel wool.

Curious so what do you use then to get out scratches etc..I have done a few old style Tikka stocks-M65 and 55 stuff that were pretty rough-older military weapons I would guess-spend lotsa of time with the iron and a wet towel for dents which works great.
