I am wondering if there are any license or permits needed to do ADC work? I have looked at IDFG's site and through the exhausting state laws. For what I'm looking to do, nothing seems to stick out but personally I have to be certain before I take the next steps. I wouldn't be surprised if I missed something.
Last year I trapped porcupines for some guys who had fruit trees being munched on. It went great and I had a blast doing it. I'd like to offer my service in town for porcupine, coyote, skunk, rock chuck and raccoon problems. All the non game type species. I just want to be legal before I do it.
I do have a very new and small trapping based business selling my tanned furs, cleaned skulls and similar things. It's not something I am looking to get rich doing. I'm a disabled vet and after starting to trap in 2019 my life changed for the better.
Before I start advertising nuisance animal work in Idaho, is there anything I need to do on the legal side of things?

Thanks for any help

Here's what I found. I made calls to fish and game and various state agencies asking about these things a couple of months ago. It does not seem like there are any license or permits needed. I'm not sure what city your in but in Poky they don't require a business license either. You do have to register the business with the state is what I'm told. It sounds like you already have a business so it shouldn't be hard to combine this with it.

There are city rules regarding traps to look into. Again, in Poky, the use of lethal traps is not allowed anywhere. I just barely started an ADC side business as well. I did marmot jobs for people I know last summer and I anticipate mostly doing marmot jobs this summer. I am curious to see if anyone else has something to share too.

I highly encourage you to at minimum set up a simple LLC and get liability insurance if you are charging for your services.

Thanks for replying. It sounds like we both found the same things. I'm not far from you, just up the road in Blackfoot.

Liability insurance isn't something I haven't thought of. I'll have to look into that today.
