Wanted 2 more out of this group and got 3. Gotta find one later today, it got to the field last night and will have to find it in the light. They’re smart to snares and snowmobile trails. 5 more sets about 3 miles north of here which is the direction the other 3 were heading which will be checked afterwards. Nice grey is rubbed but the other 2 will be taxi skinned. Weathers supposed to go to heck and warm up, possibly rain/snow/wind tonight. Focus on beaver now and muskrat which opens here March 1.

I'm going to have to steal some of your knowledge for next year.
Thanks guys! Most of the info from tips from the fellas in the wilderness page, in books, at demos, and waiting for you in the bush just seeing what they do. Every pack is different too, and nothings written in stone. If someone tells you you’re doing something wrong, do it anyway, they’re probably not wolfers because they’d know better…….I wouldn’t wizz on my set, but I’ll bet you you could make something work there too….lol. The 1st one I had to shoot was completely submissive, this boy was not the case. Its body language says it was in fight or flight mode and it wasn’t going to be running had it got out. It’s a different feeling looking a wolf with anger in its eyes at 10’ away. First shot must’ve hit a branch, found the bullet just under the skin. 2nd one finished it within 15 seconds. The one 72lb female must’ve broke its back leg in spring. It was healed up kinda sticking out the side, crazy! Maybe learned a lesson taking on a deer, cow or car? There’s a reason they abandon 90% of their chases, not with the risk of getting hurt. We’ll see what today and tomorrow morning brings.

They sure are BIG wulfs… Next time I won’t complain about hauling out a fat raccoon!
Yea, they get heavy hauling them around. But after weighing them in the garage, the 2 heavier ones around 72lbs I says to buddy… “It’s pretty crazy that we’ve caught beaver this big!” Beaver must be all muscle…..lol

Tracked down Mr MB750 and found another one in a snare. Released 2 bald eagles to boot. They were both tangled up in a ram and never set it off. That’s definitely a 2 man job! Taking a nap now……
So now you have 5 frozen hard to skin super coyotes to skin. The work is just starting. As I just said today to someone, I hope I never skin another coyote......jk
