I guess those animals were stretched before the NAFA guidelines for width were recommended.

Can you still get bears that big in Maine? Some look big enough to be Grizzlies.

That old boy had some work involved in tacking those bear hides up. It they were raw hides he needed to have some help and used some stout spikes or horse shoe nails. Those hides are heavy.

I see that hawk door ornament must have been a statement of your profession back in those days. He would be fined and put in jail now a days.
