That was cool. Never thought I'd see a seven foot gun that wasn't for some kind of anti-material round.

I forget who made/makes it, but there's a 30" barrel extension that screws into the guns barrel thats threaded for chokes, it acts as a suppressor when shooting subsonic shotgun rounds. Used in tight populated areas or when you want to stay discrete....

A friend of mine in high-school and lager worked with him father had a mall machine shop in his garage and made barrels and chokes for spot shoot guns and was really into it. it had incredible how hard 7.5 shot would hit the boards at that distance bouncing on the mount with the tight shooting guns.

I would shoot his guns but never won. Found out years later he had the sighted in to use a hold off so anyone shooting his gun would not be as likely to beat him with it. all his gins were scoped.

Turkey shoots. The rules and prizes vary so much.

When I was about 15, my uncle took me to a local trap club for a turkey shoot. You paid $5, walked out to a trap line with a bunch of other guys, most hits out of 5 targets won a frozen turkey. I went home with 2 turkeys out of 3 tries. Feeling pretty good about myself until my mother informed me I had paid $15 and a box of shells to get $10 worth of turkey.

About 10 years go buy........local Lions club hosting a turkey shoot. I go......thinking I'll win a turkey or two. That was just paying money to put a mark on a piece of paper, then sitting back drinking beer and telling lies until they got to about 15 or 20 marks They then put the paper up, then somebody cut down on it with a shotgun. Mark that was closest to a pellet won a cash jackpot. Just random chance, like cow pie bingo. I went home empty handed.

Prize for this one might be worth a try.

Easy to vote your way into socialism, but impossible to vote your way out of it.

Some of those dedicated card shooters put hundreds... maybe more... in those custom choked turkey shoot guns.
Have to hand the shooter a shell and watch them put it in the gun... ran a local JC shoot and 1 guy slipped in an obviously handloaded load of #12's(?)... always 1 in the crowd no matter what you're doing.

The shooting matches around here are intense. I’ve done well on the ham shoots, won on 2 of my first 3 shoots. Pretty lousy since lol. Haven’t shot in any of the beef matches. I used to deer hunt on family property about a mile straight north of that Celestine club.

That's a Metro-Barrel and I have made those....They are much quieter because of the low power loads, and gas bleeding ports drilled the length of the device.

They play heck on your wingshooting, but were useful for shooting crow roost flyways near city limits.

Hastings makes those and I just checked, Midway has them, $229, look up Metro barrel extensions, seems like they're still available.
