I read about this in the National Geographic magazine nearly 20 years ago; very interesting.
Just a couple of mistakes this video makes: 1) Wolves did not take 15,000 years to domesticate, they became domesticated 12K-15K years ago, and probably in a relativity short period of time. 2) This is about domestication, not evolution, the narrator starts out on the right track, but then proceeds to confuse the two issues.
BTW, this video IS available, just click on "Watch on Youtube"

That is just nasty !!! Rats have no ability to control their bladders. SO while ratotoohey was crawling on her face he almost undoubtedly was spreading RAT urine in her mouth and on her face.

I wonder what causes animals to exhibit piebald traits when domesticated; caribou/reindeer are another good example of that.

Yes! Waggler I’d think wolf domestication may have happened faster than thought. Our long back ancestors had no reservation to whacking a hard case animal in the head then introducing them to stew. The naturally more receptive to domestication and proximity to humans were probably bred along quite handily. Wolves are intelligent and I’d think figured out where their bread was buttered in good time.

Newer studies show wolves were domesticated by at least 140,000 years ago. In the US, more households have dogs than children under 18. Wolves changed us too.

I did some research once estimating how hard it would be to domesticate bears enough to make them rideable. Humans could in theory do it in about one lifetime but you'd have to start with thousands of bears and selectively breed them. It would be an enormously costly production and the results would probably be so-so at best. But it's possible.

The guy in this video rides a grizzly bear towards the end. He's a bit out there.
