Took a little ride to access coal lick run (a crick!!) in town cause I heard a rumor. Couldn’t find anything. Another prospect up the mountains that I will hopefully check out this weekend. I have three 330’s that I compressed the springs so they’re ready and I have three big footholds from Trappin Arkansas that are ready for action. Man I miss water trapping!
How do you guys search for sign? Just go and wander the cricks? Or do you get calls from people who have trouble?
First time I set for them in my twenties I was talking to a guy in a hardware store and the problem came up in conversation

I don't worry about sign when trapping beaver in spring.

They cruise around quite a bit and if they're around, they'll find that castor

Google earth to find dams and then I run the creek on foot. If there's one beaver lodge there's almost always more. I've also found quite a few in the river, and you can basically just walk the river untill you see runs and or chewed trees.

I’ve never specifically looked for beaver sign blind that I can recall, but any series of ponds with a creek or flow between them is gonna have beavers around here. We have a pond behind our house that has one or two show up every year even though it has none most of the year. Think they are just passing through, but I’ll still find where they have cut trees

Go slow out there...you slip and fall on one of these...won't be pleasant...

You could advertise free beaver removal on Craigslist and Facebook. If you do so on Facebook, pick groups that are unlikely to have antis in them. The message boards at the local feed stores, would also be a good place to advertise beaver removal.
