What's yall opinion?

I've had alot of people swear eagles don't eat dead atuff..only stuff they kill.

Have yall seen em eating carrion before or do you think they're just fresh kill eaters?

IF IDIOTS GREW ON TREES THIS PLACE WOULD BE AN ORCHARD !

They even scavenge coyote carcasses. Seen it a lot.

They will eat anything dead or alive. I see them catch lots of fish when there is no ice on the lake.

Rumor has it, when they were debating on national bird, Ben Franklin wanted it to be wild turkeys. Asked why would you want a buzzard / scavenger (eagle) as your national bird? Concept is not new.

Aside from scooping up live fish, they are almost exclusively scavenging their food around here. When asked by tourists where the best black to view the white heads is in town I tell them at the local garbage dump.

Most eagles I have seen are on road kill or remote carcass's. I have also seen some work over water ways where it is available.

The only critters I've seen eagles kill are fish.

95% of the time see them on a deer carcass.

Eh...wot?

Balds will also take waterfowl. They also kill a considerable number of lambs. I’ve referred to them as beach buzzards for longer than I can remember. Goldens will also take advantage of convenient carrion.

I see them eat dead stuff all the time especially rotting roadkill.

one cool story I have is I was 4 years old fishing with my dad on my little John boat and a giant male bald eagle flew down and tried to steal our northern Pike of the stringer in the water. I was trying to whack it away with my fishing rod eventually it gave up trying to steal our fish. but me and my dad have a cool story to tell.
