Woof that's a steep water bill. Nice you got a reduction but it's always funny to me when water is priced by the gallon. Guess it's cause we have a lot of rain here but our water is a fixed utility bill.

thats a bit. thers a insurance that goes on our bill that makes it so when you have a leak like that the insurance covers all of it, just gotta file the claim and pay what your regular usage ends up. It would of been a 650 bill that I only paid 26 bucks plus the parts I had to buy to fix the leak.

I have had thar happen twice. . Frost free hydrant started leaking but it was closed to the house and water made it to the drainage tile around the house so no obvious wet spot indicating a leak.
I dug ut up on a it has to be where the leak is is is not anywhere else hunch. It was but it was also late and all
stores to get parts were closed. while i was at work and dad had a company come replace it. Truro to form when I pay someone to do things I end up having to redo the job at some point. Within a year it was leaking there again. I just replaced the line from the meter to the house and did away with the frost free hydrant and added a spigot to the house.

Your meter must be outside? Ours is in basement and charged from water after that point. That’s a steep bill. They put new water meters in our town awhile back that are high tech and allow them to be lazy but they can look at their computer and tell how much water we use by hourly. I told the village guy that told me that, that is creepy as all get out.

Had a similar thing 3 years ago. Municipality just sent a letter stating I was using way more water that usual. Check blah-blah-blah. No discount.

Turned out it was the old water softener misbehaving. New softener sized for my use solved the water problem. Didn't solve the municipality problem. Most on the city council are Democrats. The county is hard Republican.

I would have a well drilled.

We had a pipe freeze and broke under one of our rentals last winter. The people renting it said they didn't hear anything. When we got the water bill it was $800. My wife called the city, they wouldn't take a cent off the bill

They don't offer insurance? Ours is third party and it's a dollar or two added to the bill. The insurance also would of paid for the repairs.

Had piipes froze and broke here as we and no insurance available. My meter is around 3/4 of a mile from the house. The original owner made the run using 1" PVC schedule 10 an some places was exposed. More then once I have wised I never saw this pop stand but most times we love it.

Just repaired a froze and broke waterline under a double wide. Meter reader saw the leak needle spinning so shut off the line and called the owner. Owner is in Arizona and was charged for a winter shut off. 162.000 gallons $1465.00. Water company eating the bill plus my invoice.
