soo long story short there is a squirrel I have stuck in my garage it must have found a way in there to get out of the cold. I plan on using a #0 and a #1 longspring.
my question is I'm gonna use peanut butter with some crushed up acorns and mixed nuts but since its a garage its not like I can put the bait in a hole or a tree so can I just smear peanut butter on the pan? my only other idea Is to fill the back of a cage trap with bait and use dryer duckt tubing going up to it so when it smells the bait it can just knock it over it would actually have to go in the tubing and climb in to the trap.

what do you guys think?

the only traps I own are the longspring's mentioned earlier 2 550 coil springs and a cage trap for gophers

Tack a slice of apple to a cardboard box or whatever you have handy and set the #1 right in front of it. No need to cover it with anything. This should catch him pretty quick.

If you had a 110, slide a whole peanut or piece of bread, pretty much anything on the trigger , works like a charm...

Heck, try the live trap, close everything up to calm the squirrel down, don't think you need the tube, just bait it and let it soak....

Open the door and send in the dog...just be prepared to clean up the mess afterwards. Guaranteed the squirrel will find a way out.

The rat trap will kill it. Then hide it from your mom and wing it out in the weeds.

apple on the box should work. put it about 8 inches up and squirrel will hop on the trap. then make biscuits and gravy

I was using the rat traps in weasle boxes and watch one , one day get whacked by the kill bar and tossed out of the trap , they were the wide pan easy set type

110 with a pan would be more ideal in a box settup

110 on a 2x4 with cloth and a baited trigger is good

blind trail set got his one
I could see where he was coming around the garage tracks back and forth in the snow , laid the trap right in the tracks , took a few days , the weather got warmer snow melted he still stepped on it
just set the pan light

You must be thinking mouse traps. Rat traps are big and strong and hit them on the head and neck and kill them. It would break your finger. Trust me, it would be over for the squirrel quickly. Tell your mom you saw it chewing electrical wires and it could burn the house down, so you had to remove it. Then wing it out in the weeds, grin

I did that when a feral cat got in the garage. Sent in my cur. That was quite the show.
